On the North-East coastline of Northumberland, a small fire burns on the beach.
The minute I set eyes on this little fire, I knew I simply had to paint it. I didn't know who had lit it, or what they were burning, but the challenge of painting flames in watercolour - which was something relatively new to me - proved irresistable. To complete the composition, the distinctive shape of Lindisfarne Castle in the background provided me with a perfect backdrop, aided by the random, meandering streams created by the retreating tide.
On such a cold, overcast day, the flames provided a delightful hint of warmth and colour.

The original watercolour has been painted on heavyweight (200lbs) Saunders Waterford watercolour paper (Rough), with light-resistent, high quality watercolour paint. The price quoted is for the painting to be supplied to you unframed, in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer. A quote for framed work will be provided on request.

SIGNED LIMITED EDITION PRINT
The Limited Edition Print is a giclee reproduction, using only inks of the highest quality, and printed on 310gsm acid-free German Etching paper. The Art Card is printed on 190gsm High-quality Smooth-finish card, size A5. It is blank inside (no message) and comes complete with its own envelope.
