November 2024: I felt inexplicably compelled to draw a scene from the news \u2013 of the terrible, devastating aftermath from the week\u2019s floods in Spain. It reminded me that we live in an age when news items are near instant. If something newsworthy happens on one side of the globe, then there is a good chance it will be reported on the other side of the globe within minutes, accompanied by high resolution video and\/or photographs.<\/p>\n
There was a time in the dim and distant past when news from other\u00a0 towns and villages was passed on by word of mouth, through the medium of art and music, performed by travelling artists, poets and singers. They didn\u2019t have BBC News back in them good ol\u2019 days.<\/p>\n
