Description
Langdale is a haven for serious fell walkers, with the likes of Bow Fell and Pike O’Blisco, and several notable tarns within easy walking distance.
This is the view looking back down Stickle Ghyll, on the arduous climb up to Stickle Tarn. What I loved about the weather conditions on the day (it was hot, I seem to recall) was how the light played upon the receding mountains. From an artistic point of view, this is a visual bonus, allowing me to tweak the light in order to create the strongest, most impactful composition that I can.
This was painted up while exhibiting and demonstrating at Patchings Art Festival in July 2022, and I have a blog post referring to the composition and construction of the scene here.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
