Description
This was painted after a walk my wife and I made from Aira Force to Glencoyne Head on a stiflingly hot day in July 2021. Despite the heat, we still managed to get heavily rained on, but were treated to the spectacular sight of steaming fells once the storm had passed.
Glencoyne itself isn’t a lot to look at, and tends to get overlooked in favour of its more popular, and better known, neighbouring fells and peaks. It’s a broad, rather featureless U-shaped valley – probably glacial in origin – but the views down towards Ullswater from the Head of the valley are quite spectacular, and I found this particular composition to be irresistable (largely, in part, due to the foreground rocks, which I always enjoy painting).
A demonstration of this painting formed part of a video project for my online tuition service, a timelapsed version of which appears on my YouTube Channel.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
