Description
The upper reaches of Lathkill Dale, in the Peak District, are a tangle of rocks and tussocky undergrowth. It’s the moss-covered trees that fascinate me the most, however, and I always love painting such a scene; there’s something slightly magical about it.
The rocky outcropping visible in the background, as far as I know, doesn’t have a name, but this scene is near the disused Ricklow Quarry, at the Eastern end of the dale, near Monyash.
I painted this while exhibiting and demonstrating at Art in the Pen (Skipton) in August 2022.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
