Description
Sheepshaw Beck is one of the many streams that feed into the River Wharfe, near Bolton Abbey.
This was painted just North of Bolton Abbey, on the outer reaches of Desolation Valley, on the way up to Simon’s Seat. It was an excellent opportunity to study the intricasies of painting raging waters, with its primary challenge of retaining highlights through negative painting (there was no masking fluid used), and conveying shape and movement, while still explaining the underlying flow of the beck.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
