Description
One of the highlights of our Patterdale 2023 trip was a customary walk through the woods of Patterdale Hall, signposted as ‘Waterfalls Wood’, but with access restricted to those staying on the premises, and not open to the general public.
I chose this specific subject to paint because of the lovely gnarly tree roots in the foreground, which never fail to fascinate me. Autumn colours always add value to a composition, of course, and the dappled shadows completed what was, overall, an enjoyable painting experience.
This painting was produced while exhibiting and demonstrating at Art in the Gardens (Sheffield Botanical Gardens), in September 2023.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
