Brackenbottom, Horton-in-Ribblesdale (Original Watercolour)

Description

Brackenbottom is a small group of farm buildings in Horton-in-Ribblesdale in North Yorkshire.

The conditions were perfect for this painting; a beautifully clear summer’s day, without a single cloud in the sky and lots of good, sharp shadows falling across the road. I love to see dry stone walls that are old and have imperfections in them (so much better than tidy new walls); here, the walls and the road combine to help draw the eye in towards the large prominent trees and the partially hidden barn.

This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
