Description
This is a view looking towards Derwentwater that I enjoyed when wildcamping by Spinkling Tarn (near Bow Fell).
Mountains hold endless fascination for me, never ceasing to marvel at the way they interconnect and disappear into the mist as they recede away from us.
From a sketching point of view, it’s important to maintain ‘T-Junctions’ at the points where all the mountains intersect, and to avoid ‘crossroads’, as this helps to establish a good strong foundation for the compositon. Note, also, how important the shading is in the foreground, to prevent the land from looking flat and two-dimensional.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
