Description
When it comes to interesting, challenging watercolour subjects, you can’t beat a good waterfall. And when it comes to waterfalls, Low Force, in Teesdale, is way up there in terms of drama and location.
We stopped off in Teesdale, on our way up to Northumberland (another wonderful part of the world) and hiked along part of the Pennine Way to reach Low Force… and I’m pleased to say that it didn’t disappoint.
There are lots of different ways to view Low Force, and I can tell you that, in the time we were there, I’m pretty sure I checked out all of them, photographing the falls between sandwiches (its a good spot for lunch) before settling on this view. As you can see, it was a clear, sunny day, so the colours were quite vibrant and the light cast some interesting shadows.
