Description
This was one of several paintings that came out of a sketching trip to Patterdale. What attracted me most to the scene was the preponderance of dark foliage in the left-hand tree, and the way the light fell across the track in the foreground. Puddles always add extra value to a subject, enabling me to bring some of the light from the top half of the scene down into the lower half.
This painting was produced while exhibiting and demonstrating at Art in the Gardens (Sheffield Botanical Gardens), in September 2023.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
