Description
As well as hosting a famous annual film festival, Cannes, on the Southern coast of France, has much more to offer the casual visitor, including many interesting back streets in the old town.
Exploring understated back streets in the oldest part of any European town is where I tend to find the most promising subjects to paint. Despite the fact that this particular scene, with its odd, wedge-shaped building and upwards-looking viewpoint, proved to be quite a challenge, I think it captures the spirit of the location very well.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
