Description
Glen Orchy runs in a roughly South-Westerly direction from Bridge of Orchy in the Highlands, to where it meets up with River Lochy, in Glen Lochy, and flows out West towards the Atlantic Ocean via Loch Awe. During our navigation of the route, along mostly single-track roads with just the occasional passing place, we discovered some fantastic scenery, and this rather marvellous waterfall, known as Easan Dubh.
Our visit was part of a three day trip to the Highlands, a blog of which can be read here.
I love all waterfalls, but this one slipped easily into what I would describe as the ‘Mildly Spectacular’ variety. It isn’t particularly high, but the arrangement of its accompanying rocks and the forestry backdrop proved to be very easy on the eye. I started this painting as a demonstration piece during the only art show to physically go ahead in 2020 – Art in the Gardens, at Sheffield – and didn’t complete it until mid-October… I like to think it was worth the wait…
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
