Far Easedale Gill (Original Watercolour)

Description

This is just one of several paintings that I produced from a single sketching trip up to Easedale Tarn, from Grasmere, in the Lake District.

This particular location is on the opposite side of the valley to the tarn, below Helm Crag, on my way back towards the village. As always with me; I was completely seduced by the arrangement of rocks in the foreground, and the lovely curve of the stone wall as it follows the contours of the land alongside the stream (known as a ‘Gill’ in Cumbria). I was also keen to include the submerged rocks visible in the shallow water, in the foreground.

This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
