Description
November 2024: I felt inexplicably compelled to draw a scene from the news – of the terrible, devastating aftermath from the week’s floods in Spain. It reminded me that we live in an age when news items are near instant. If something newsworthy happens on one side of the globe, then there is a good chance it will be reported on the other side of the globe within minutes, accompanied by high resolution video and/or photographs.
There was a time in the dim and distant past when news from other towns and villages was passed on by word of mouth, through the medium of art and music, performed by travelling artists, poets and singers. They didn’t have BBC News back in them good ol’ days.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
