Description
A typical Yorkshire Dales scene, featuring a stone barn and walls, and farm wagon.
I approached this in a loose line and wash style, starting with a watercolour wash with a few strategically placed highlights, before establishing the basic layout of the scene in ink.
The coming together of the two mediums, and the challenge of achieving a healthy balance between the two, is always fascinating to me. Upper Wharfedale is one of my favourite, places within the Dales National Park, close to where I live; Cray is one of the lesser known hamlets, right on the edge of some of the area’s wildest moorland landscape.
This painting is supplied unframed, and will be dispatched in protective packaging with rigid backing panel, ready to take to a framer.
